Preserving Free Speech and Eliminating Political Persecution

Political persecution and repression occurs when a state or federal entity engages in control of citizens by force, coercion or intimidation for political reasons, particularly for the purpose of restricting or preventing a citizen’s ability to take part in political life or discourse.  House Judiciary Republicans reported receiving a whistleblower disclosure providing evidence that federal law enforcement used counterterrorism resources at the behest of a left-wing special interests group in persecuting parents of schoolchildren.  This action was triggered by a letter sent by the National School Boards Association (“NSBA”) which sought to categorize parents (who were concerned about school curriculum) as domestic terrorists.  Later released internal emails revealed that the NSBA coordinated with the White House and the Department of Justice before sending President Biden the notorious letter that politically branded concerned parents as domestic terrorists.

It is also undisputed that FBI employees engaged in falsifying documents used to obtain FISA warrants which would allow surveillance on political adversaries to Democrat campaign.  Individuals within federal agencies also abused NSA surveillance databases against Americans, used unreliable DNC-funded propaganda to spy on the Trump campaign, perpetuated the Russia hoax, and repeatedly lied to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.

No matter what one’s political views are or what candidate they support, these types of activities cannot be tolerated in a free society, and legislative action is imperative to correct this growing threat to free speech and preserve our democratic republic.
